1st XV Home vs Newcastle

A tough start to the season at home for the 1st XV. They battled on to a well fought try at the end but a more cohesive Newcastle team beat us out on the day.

1st XV Home vs Glasgow

A hard fought and deserved victory for the girls, saw the hard work being put in at training reaping rewards in the match. It also beautifully displayed the new structure implemented by Head Coach Matt.

1st XV Away vs Northumbria

A well established Northumbria beat out the girls. Durham fought into the dying minutes scoring a well deserved try. We keep pushing forward.

2nd XV Away vs Northumbria

The 2s and devs had a preseason friendly against Northumbria Uni's combines 2s and devs. With both uni's putting out 30+ players each it was a great day for womens rugby! Fortunately some stellar performances from the players, led to a strong attacking shape and some eyebrow raising tries!
1st XV Away vs Nottingham
05/11/2025
The 1s travelled down to Nottingham and after a week off (with a lot of contact prep), made the game very physical. A few lucky breaks from Notts and tired legs from the DU girls led to the scoreline. However, coach Matt remained in good spirits with the best defensive performance of the season to date (when going through the analytics).

2nd XV Home vs Bangor
05/11/2025
The 2s first outting of the year was a hard fought loss. The girls had real heart but lacked some cohesiveness, coming short over the tryline on several occasions.
Special thanks to Coach Chris H. for stepping in for a refereeing mix up. A real asset to the club his refereeing was praised by both sides.

1st XV Away vs Newcastle
12/11/2025
One of the best games to date. Taking several injuries and with Newcastle scoring against 14 players, it was an unfortunate loss. Coach Matt, Ben & Chris were thrilled with the defensive display and the heart every player showed. After spending the last 10 minutes of the game in Newcastles 22m area we just couldn't get over the line, with tired bodies and key players injured. A Great game of rugby and something to platform from moving forward.
1st XV Away vs Glasgow

A tough trip away to glasgow with a few first team players injured, led to a tough scoreline. The girls will come back to Scotland stronger next year, with a better understanding of the laws across the border.

1st XV Home vs Northumbria
26/11/2025
The best performance form the girls to date, with all players back (bar a few with serious injuries following the game vs Newcastle) the girls put in a hearty performance! Coach Matt had the coaches out in full force with all coaches present (except those student coaches playing, "up the lads") we had a confident sideline. Massive shout outs to the girls who got recognition for POTM's, a big shift was had by all and a surprise defeat for Northumbria! Onwards and upwards!

2nd XV CUP vs Liverpool John Moores 26/10/2025
The 2ss narrowly lost at home to Liverpool John Moores in the Northern Conference cup. A strong performance form the mighty 2's, hopefully we see the cohesiveness continue to some wins and close results down the line. Coaches Chris, Carl and Mike said the girls played with a real determination and grit not found in most teams and they were proud of their performance.

1st XV Away vs Loughborough
03/12/2025
The best game of the season so far, the ladies accquited themselves well against what is always a tough away game to Lougborough. The team led for 70 minutes of the game and unfortunately in the dying minutes of the game we recieved 2 injuries. Dropping down to 14 on the field, with one player running off due to a head injury and Loughborough capitalising for a score. The women fought hard and with 6 freshers playing in the game its clear the future is bright at Durham.
